Yesterday, when I was writing the article on Google AMP, I learned about Washington Post as one of the early adopters of Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages Project (AMP). Today, while checking the Page Insights for StartuptoEnterprise.com, I was curious to look up the results of Washington Post on Google Page Insights. When I did, I couldn’t figure out the poor child: the WaPo Webmaster or Google AMP project lead. Washington Post is screwed up on its Core Web Vitals. Could this be why WaPo has got all the gains on the table but with an invisible glass obstructing the access? In simple words, is WaPo not able to have conversions because of their affected core web vitals? I am curious to understand what this means for WaPo as a publisher and Google to be responsible for affecting WaPo’s web traffic. Trust me, here, most Indian news sites are affected if they look into their PageSpeed Insights. Tell me, what’s the point of metrics that prove every publisher wrong. Could it be Google has to get a bench to improve its Core Web Vital metrics?
